WiFi PCMCIA cards for Notebook

After using a WiFi connection while on "vacation" I have decided that it might be a useful accessory to own. I want to get something that is not only relatively secure but unobtrusive as well.

I have a free PCMCIA Type I slot available and am wondering if anyone has any experience using PCMCIA WiFi cards and would give me the benefit of their experiences.

I am more concerned with security than I am with cost, but refuse to pay as much for the card as I did for my notebook.

Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Barb Bowman, a fellow MS MVP, is a wireless expert. I suggest:

WPA Wireless Security for Home Networks - July 28, 2003

And her most recent:

Segmenting and Securing Networks with Microsoft Wireless Base Stations - January 26, 2004

Also, see the "Related Links" that are at the right of all her articles.
