ctfmon.exe

Postby Spock » Fri 2008 Feb 08 1:42

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get rid of the program file ctfmon.exe ever since I removed Microsoft Office from my computer.

The first place I went for information was the Microsoft FAQ but, even after following its instructions, the pesky program is still there.

I next tried HowToGeek and it gave me basically the same information but in easier to follow steps.

ctfmon.exe is still there and still insists on running! I am about to throw this Microsoft spy box out the window!

Are there any members out there who know how to get rid of the Microsoft spyware?

Apperantly its located in the system32 folder, wich makes me believe it might be something inbedded in the kernel of windows, might be wrong though.
If however im not, windows needs it and will load it on booting.

It is in the Windows\System32 folder but of much more importance to me right now is, "How the heck did you manage to login and make a post!?" This forum was supposedly locked down until just before I made my post here. You should not have been able to get in to post!

Don't know what I'm talking about? Read the Global Announcement.
